It also has a number of other impressive temples, including Wat Khunaram, where the mummified body of Loung Pordaeng, a monk who died in a meditating position is on display. The mountain jungle in the interior of the island is home to a number of impressive gardens built by legendary Samuian farmer Nim Thongsuk, the impressive waterfalls at Na Muang, real working rubber plantations and the most amazing views over the Ang Thong archipelago. You can also take a day trip out to the beautiful Ang Thong National Marine Park.

Cities in Thailand:
X
Bangkok
Bangkok is considered to be Asia's top tourist destination. The city boasts some of the country's most visited historical venues such as the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, various monuments and shopping malls. Bangkok's most spectacular sights are located on the same compound: the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The rooflines and spires are extravagant, ornamented richly and this is only one compound away from Bangkok's Chinatown. Other sights include the National Museum (a great introduction to the county's history and artifacts), the Red Cross Snake Farm (to watch venomous snakes being milked) and the Weekend Market near Chatuchak Park.
X
Phuket
Located about 900 kms south from Bangkok, and connected to the mainland by a 100 meter-long causeway, Phuket is a charming destination. The mix of different cultures like Chinese and Portuguese and Muslim has given Phuket a unique flavour. Along with the incredible beaches, hills and lush jungle, Phuket is a water lover's paradise. There is a wide range of water activities including scuba diving, yachting, water-skiing, windsurfing, jet-skiing and parasailing to choose from. Other attractions are the Phuket Aquarium, the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park and five golf courses, including the prestigious Blue Canyon Country Club. Phuket is an ideal base from which to explore the Andaman region.
