Cities in Thailand:
X
Bangkok
Bangkok is considered to be Asia's top tourist destination. The city boasts some of the country's most visited historical venues such as the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, various monuments and shopping malls. Bangkok's most spectacular sights are located on the same compound: the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The rooflines and spires are extravagant, ornamented richly and this is only one compound away from Bangkok's Chinatown. Other sights include the National Museum (a great introduction to the county's history and artifacts), the Red Cross Snake Farm (to watch venomous snakes being milked) and the Weekend Market near Chatuchak Park.

X
Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is a 700-years old city with a fascinating indigenous cultural identity such as diverse dialects, cuisine, architecture, traditional values, festivals, handicrafts and classical dances. Surrounded by high mountain ranges, the terrain is mainly comprised of jungles and mountains, which are home to the hill tribes. In addition, wildlife and exotic flora may be found in the national parks. As a tourist, you will be surprised that there is always something new to discover Chiang Mai. Intriguing diversity among ethnic tribes coupled with breathtaking scenery makes Chiang Mai one of Asia's most attractive tourist destinations.
X
Hua Hin
Hua Hin is the oldest beach resort of the country, where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and golfing in the country's first standard golf course. Despite its expansive growth and development as a luxurious destination, the splendor of Hua Hin remains intact. It continues to provide a peaceful and relaxed sanctuary in a picturesque environment that comes with a true sense of historical identity. Even the Royal Family resides here at the Summer Palace of King Rama VII for part of the year. Clean white sand, crystal water and a tranquil atmosphere attract tourists in search of peaceful and relaxing holidays.
X
Chiang Rai
Founded in 1262 by King Meng Rai, Chiang Rai is the northernmost province of Thailand. Chiang Rai is a traveler's paradise endowed with abundant natural tourist attractions and antiquities. Attractions include breathtaking mountain scenery, ruins of ancient settlements, historic sites, Buddhist shrines and ethnic villages as the province is also home to several hill tribes who maintain fascinating lifestyles. For the adventurous tourists jungle trekking is recommended along various trails.
X
Koh Samui
Koh Samui or Samui Island is considered to be the second most beautiful tourism spot in Thailand. It has lovely clean beaches with magical blue-green colored water and an idyllic atmosphere. The main landmark is Big Buddha - a 12m high statue of the Buddha, which lies at the top of ceremonial dragon-steps at the Wat Phra Yai. It also has a number of other impressive temples, including Wat Khunaram, where the mummified body of Loung Pordaeng, a monk who died in a meditating position is on display. The mountain jungle in the interior of the island is home to a number of impressive gardens built by legendary Samuian farmer Nim Thongsuk, the impressive waterfalls at Na Muang, real working rubber plantations and the most amazing views over the Ang Thong archipelago. You can also take a day trip out to the beautiful Ang Thong National Marine Park.
X
Mae Hong Son
Mae Hong Son is a peaceful spot, with many natural attractions. It provides great opportunities for adventures in the mountainous forested region, passing through villages with Burmese style temples. You will also encounter beautiful waterfalls that fill small pools which are a perfect treat at the end of long treks through the forests. The region is also well known for its multitude of caves: more than 67 caves were discovered in the province, many still containing prehistoric relics. The 400m long cave at Tham Lod, about 80km to the northwest of Mae Hong Son, near Soppong, is just one of these fine caves. There are also several temples, well worth visiting like: Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Mu - set at an altitude of 1500m on Doi Kong Mu, offering a wonderful view of the city and the encompassing mountains and valleys, Wat Jong Klang housing a collection of Burmese carved wooden dolls - tukata, depicting characters from the Jataka tales (stories of Buddha's previous life episode).
