The trip was fabulous! First I want to thank April Stiles, your representative who helped me make all the reservations. She was great. She understood my requests and fulfilled them beautifully. I don`t think there`s a thing I would change. The hotel in Bangkok was located pretty centrally and very close to the air train which meant getting around was pretty easy once you figured it out. The food was good, the rooms clean. We spent 5 nights there spread out over 3 stays and they were very welcoming and helpful. Just so you know, Bangkok airport is about an hour out of the city and you have to be very sure you`re on the taxi meter or you will be forced to negotiate. The prices can vary hugely. Our hotel in Chiang Mai was perfectly located. We could walk everywhere; visit the Wats (temples) on foot, only a few blocks from the night market. We knew what we wanted to do and the tour office in the hotel was helpful. Definitely recommend Tiger Kingdom (though you have to be very brave if you`re going to pet the very large tigers! (I stuck with the babies). Also recommend Eco Tours if you want to spend a day with the elephants. You have to be prepared to climb on and off the elephants (no ladder provided) and go for a long ride in the afternoon but, if you`re fit enough and up for it, it`s a fabulous experience! It`s definitely not for the faint of heart and you end up in the river with the elephants so be prepared! We saw more temples than I could count, the royal palace, the reclining Buddha, the emerald Buddha, we took local buses, local boats, ate in local restaurants, walked miles. The 3 day Kwai trip is to be recommended. We met people going to Kanchanaburi for only the day, others going overnight. We loved that we took the 3 day trip which not only took us to the bridge over the River Kwai and the war museum, but we also had a 40 minute boat trip up into the jungle to the Resotel Resort which was absolutely perfect. It also meant that we learned more about the history by going to Hellfire Pass and the Death Railway. It was very moving and to be recommended to anyone interested in the World War 2 history. Back to Bangkok and then to Phuket Island. These were the final days of our trip and we loved them. The hotel that April Stiles chose for us was overlooking the water and the room was great. One thing April organized for us was that we had breakfast included at all our hotels. This meant that we always had a good meal at the start of the day and then were free to eat at the local restaurants, street restaurants, wherever we felt like stopping. It was well worth whatever extra hotel fee was charged. All in all, a fabulous trip. I will definitely use your services again and April Stiles if she is available. In fact, I think I`m going to be planning a trip to India next year so I will be in touch! Thanks.
