The Beautiful Yangzi River

At almost 4,000 miles long, the Yangzi River (Yangtse or Yangtze) is the longest river in Asia, the third longest river in the world and the birthplace of Chinese civilisation. The Yangzi is the historical divider between northern and southern China, providing a natural barrier against invaders and waterway for transport and commerce. The most impressive section of the river is the three Yangtze River gorges: Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge, collectively known as Sanxia, or the Three Gorges. A Yangzi River Cruise is the thrill of a lifetime. Tourists enjoy the stunning scenery of the Yangtze Three Gorges while exploring the ancient cultural sites along the river.
