Located at the south-eastern tip of China, Hong Kong covers the Kowloon peninsula, Hong Kong Island, the New Territories which include 262 outlying islands, and Lantau Island. Hong Kong is a modern, densely populated city built upon an ancient civilization. With its ever-growing number of high-rise buildings, Hong Kong is an important hub in East Asia because of its global connections to world cities.
Victoria Harbor's skyscrapers participate in the world's largest nightly multimedia show known as A Symphony of Lights. It is a spectacular combination of laser beams and colored lights synchronized to music and divided among five main themes: Awakening, Energy, Heritage, Partnership and Celebration. To get the best views of Hong Kong, head to Kowloon, the peninsula to the north of the island.
Victoria Peak Mountain, known simply as The Peak is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong because of its spectacular panoramic views of Victoria Harbor's sparkling skyscrapers and the green hills of the New Territories. Amongst other attractions, the New Territories offer Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree, an old tree believed to bring good fortune and Man Mo Temple.
Ocean Park is one of the largest oceanariums in the world, located on over 200 acres of land separated by a mountain. The island of Lantau, home to the airport, is made up of several large parks. Po Lin Monastery has become famous for its Tian Tan Buddha statue, informally known as the Big Buddha. The enormous 34-meter-high bronze faces north with a raised right hand delivering a blessing to all.
Hong Kong has much to offer with its colorful history, diverse culture and East-meets-West character. Customize your trip to Hong Kong and combine with other exciting destinations in the region, such as Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Beiging, and Shanghai.
